We’re delighted to welcome Roxana Caplan as ACAN’s new Operational Support Officer.

Roxana is a designer and maker, community builder and educator, focusing her work on ecological architecture and environmental social engagement. Driven by her passion for collaborative crafts and connecting people to regenerative building practices, she inspires others to find their agency through collective creations, highlighting our connection to the natural world and the urgency of caring for it and one another.

She has been involved with ACAN as an Education Coordinator and Futurebuild Project Manager for two years after leading her StuCAN chapter, during her final masters year at Newcastle University. Her passion for climate action and working towards a just, resilient and caring future has motivated her to be involved in live-build projects and seek to bring these opportunities to young people. She is one of the co-founders of the just-launched, Build Forward campaign and initiative, working to bridge the gap between theory and practice, and offer students of all levels access to build environment practical experience.

Her work with communities continues alongside her dedication to ACAN’s aims and on-going projects, trusting in the journey of joyfully co-creating with nature, people and materials as the key way of reconnecting with oneself, one another and care for the natural and built environment.

We’re excited to have her continue her inspiring journey with us in this new role, supporting ACAN’s mission for a just, resilient and caring future.
